Installing the theme & plugins

By the end of this lesson, you will have the Hello Theme installed on your WordPress site and the essential plugins (Elementor and Elementor Header & Footer) ready to use.

 

Step 1: Accessing the WordPress Dashboard

  1. Log in to your WordPress site by going to yourdomain.com/wp-admin.
  2. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
  3. Once logged in, you’ll see the WordPress dashboard.

Step 2: Installing the Hello Theme

  1. On the left-hand menu, go to Appearance > Themes.
  2. Click the Add New button at the top of the page.
  3. In the search bar, type Hello Elementor.
  4. When the Hello Theme appears, click Install.
  5. After installation, click Activate to make it your active theme.

Step 3: Installing the Elementor Plugin

  1. On the left-hand menu, go to Plugins > Add New.
  2. In the search bar, type Elementor.
  3. Look for the plugin called Elementor Website Builder by Elementor.com.
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. Once installed, click Activate.

Step 4: Installing the Elementor Header & Footer Plugin

  1. Stay in the Plugins > Add New section.
  2. In the search bar, type Elementor Header & Footer Builder.
  3. Look for the plugin by Brainstorm Force.
  4. Click Install Now.
  5. After installation, click Activate.

Step 5: Verifying the Installations

  1. On the left-hand menu, go to Appearance > Themes.
    • Confirm that Hello Elementor is listed as the active theme.
  2. Go to Plugins > Installed Plugins.
    • Confirm that both Elementor and Elementor Header & Footer Builder are installed and active.

Step 6: Configuring Basic Settings

  1. Go to Settings > General and ensure your site title, tagline, and URL are correct.
  2. Go to Settings > Permalinks and select Post Name, then click Save Changes.
